Ashley Haden: On The Outside Pissing In

Ashley Haden is back with his 5th show "On The Outside Pissing In" looking at everything from discrimination to mental health to politics. It may be dark, it may be uncomfortable, doesn't mean it isn't funny.

With a growing reputation as an honest, fearless comedian willing to tackle subjects with fresh eyes and cutting wit, Ashley Haden’s comedy is not for the faint of heart. Politically pointed and with killer punchlines, this self professed “Genocidal Liberal” creates his stand up shows as havens against the growing stupidity of a selfish world.

This year we have two entry methods: Free & Unticketed or Pay What You Can
Free & Unticketed: Entry to a show is first-come, first served at the venue - just turn up and then donate to the show in the collection at the end.
Pay What You Can: For these shows you can book a ticket to guarantee entry and choose your price from the Fringe Box Office, up to 30 mins before a show. After that all remaining space is free at the venue on a first-come, first-served bases. Donations for walk-ins at the end of the show.

News and Reviews for this Show

Ashley Haden is a new generation, old-school, shouty, sweary, political comic. It is lovely to watch. Nice to see the informed anger gene has not ENTIRELY skipped a generation. He is every bit as nihilistic as his ‘Genocidal Liberal’ soubriquet suggests. His main targets are the new legislation proposed by the government. This is the stuff of nightmare and there is the sound of an embryonic Mark Thomas here. And it is wonderful. He is absolutely merciless about anyone over the age of seventy and has never had a decent Baked Alaska, but his thoughts (thankfully, just the one) about “not being able to help everyone all of the time” are the most fist-clenchingly-stupid-verging-on-destructive load of First World childish whining I have heard. Other than that he is terrific.

REVIEW: Ashley Haden: F*ck You and F*ck Your Beliefs

Attacking politics from an angsty angle runs the risk of being divisive to an audience. Performers like Frankie Boyle highlight the risk of becoming comedy marmite; people either hate you or love you. Thankfully Ashley, although still quite aggressive, has found the sweet spot of being able to say how fucked off he is with everything and why it’s everyone else’s fault but his.

Following the success of the ‘Cunting’ trilogy’ where Haden explains how everything is fucked; this side-splitting show is Ashley appearing to reach his breaking point as no-one did anything afterwards – and now the world is completely fucked.

‘Fuck you and Fuck your beliefs’ is the hidden dark gem at the Free Fringe. Ashley’s well-informed knowledge of various issues means he’s able to craft eye-opening jokes. Whether it’s about anti-vaccinators, the royal family or politics both home and abroad – expect jaw dropping and spectacularly shocking comments. No one is safe from Haden’s cutting sense of humour. If you’re not laughing, you’re definitely learning.

This show is definitely not one for the faint-hearted. Click Here For Review
