Elephant in the Room

«Elephant in the Room» is a comedy show about Babar, king of the elephants—beloved childhood icon and, at nearly 94 years old, currently facing a small issue… a drinking problem.

But that’s not all. Some modern critics suggest Babar’s stories are colonialist. Are they? Come find out the truth behind the real—and royal—elephant in the room.

This bold, absurdist comedy features two surprise guests you won’t want to miss. Warning: this show may contain traces of peanuts.

Created during an artistic residency at Centre Cívic El Sortidor in Barcelona (funded by Barcelona City Council), «Elephant in the Room» is the second solo work by Spanish actor and comedian Pablo Lechuga, known for «El Partido» and the TV series «Carácter Lechuga». Blending clowning, improvisation, satire, nostalgia, and fringe chaos, the show is an unforgettable mix of absurdist comedy and sharp social commentary.

Since its 2023 debut, it has toured internationally at Reykjavík Fringe, Tallinn Fringe, Gothenburg Fringe, Prague Fringe, and FinFringe. Now, it returns to the Edinburgh Fringe for its second year—bolder, sharper, and more peanut-laced than ever.

This year we have two entry methods: Free & Unticketed or Pay What You Can
Free & Unticketed: Entry to a show is first-come, first served at the venue - just turn up and then donate to the show in the collection at the end.
Pay What You Can: For these shows you can book a ticket to guarantee entry and choose your price from the Fringe Box Office, up to 30 mins before a show. After that all remaining space is free at the venue on a first-come, first-served bases. Donations for walk-ins at the end of the show.
