izzie Simpson and Candace Bryan know bundles of bird facts and want you to also have that knowledge.Honkers is a raunchy and hilarious experience that feels like a night out with friends rather than a formal comedy show. Nesting in an intimate room underneath City Café is an surprisingly electric night that will make you rethink every bird you see. I left invigorated (despite it being 12am) with an excitement to share my newly acquired bird facts with the world.Being in a small room meant everyone was expected to participate. This will scare some people off, however the experience was uniquely rapturous. It felt as though we were collaborating to make a show only we would ever see. This does mean that if you have a less raucous group you may have less of a fun time, but the duo give back plenty to keep the ball rolling without the input of others. While on occasion the pair were a little disorganised and overwhelmed by the group, it added to the relaxed environment and made the show feel grounded. The two performers are simply naturally funny. Simpson and Bryan have great harmony, with one supplying zany American humour and the other edgy British humour— the duo so compatible because of their passion for birds. Not at any point did they feel scripted or stiff.Expect smash or pass (bird edition), arguments of American vs. British birds, some Canadian Goose hate, and a lecture in bird anatomy. No segment left me bored as they always had another bird to discuss. Even those who do not know much or even care much for birds will find a laugh in this show as the duo come prepared with gags for all. Honkers is for the most salacious, bird-loving, and slightly off-kilter Fringe goers looking to extend their evening with some jovial fun. To say the least, Honkers was a hoot. Click Here For Review
